Founder

I founded PintFind in 2023 to help people find the best pubs in Edinburgh.

It's a web app that shows you the best pubs near you, based on crowd-sourced reviews.

Tech Stack - SvelteKit, DaisyUI, Turso, Drizzle

It achieved over 500 active users and over 300 reviews.

2021 - 2024

Software Engineer

I joined HackerNoon as an intern during my final year of high school. I stayed on as a developer throughout my first 3 years of university.

I worked on a variety of projects:

  • HackerNoon 3.0 - Lead the development of a full migration to SvelteKit & Postgres. Resulted in web vitals gains of over 20% and massive hosting cost reductions.
  • AI Infrastructure - Designed and implemented a scalable hosting infrastructure for internal models using Docker and Google Cloud. This powers the AI features in the editor.
  • Metrics - Developed an internal analytics system to accuratly quantify key metrics while maintaining user privacy.
  • Comments & Notifications - Built a robust comment and notification system, including:
    • Real-time notifications
    • Admin moderation panel
    • Comment threading
